  1. Use System restore to make restore points when you install a new app, driver, or Windows update, and when you create a restore point manually. Restoring won’t affect your personal files, but it will remove apps, drivers, and updates installed after the restore point was made. To go back to a restore point:

    1. Select the Start button, then type control panel in the search box next to the Start button on the taskbar and select Control Panel (Desktop app) from the results.

    2. Search Control Panel for Recovery, and select Recovery > Open System Restore > Next

    3. Choose the restore point related to the problematic app, driver, or update, and then select Next > Finish.

There are a few methods of opening the System Restore GUI in Windows 10. The fastest way (in my opinion) to access it is to click the Start button and type in ‘ recovery .’ Choose the ‘Recovery’ Control Panel item, and the ‘Advanced recovery tools’ menu opens up. Here, you can choose the last option, ‘Configure System Restore’.
However, it is a vital tool in your arsenal when more serious issues start plaguing Windows 10 PCs. System Restore is a tool designed to repair and protect the operating system. The feature takes a daily snapshot of key system files and the Windows registry and saves that information as a restore point.
In the "System Protection" dialog that opens, click the "Turn on system protection" option, adjust the "Max Usage" slider to the amount of hard drive space you want System Restore to be able to use, and then click "OK." You can then click "OK" again to exit the System Properties dialog.
To undo a System Restore in Windows, repeat steps 1 through 6 above and choose Undo System Restore . Navigate to the Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools program group. Select System Restore . Press Next > on the Restore system files and settings window that should have appeared on the screen.
