    Kapil Dev Nikhanj was born on 6 January 1959 ( Age: 60 years, as in 2019) in Chandigarh, India. His father, Ram Lal Nikhanj was from Dipalpur, Pakistan and his mother, Raj Kumari was born in Pakpattan, Pakistan. His four sisters were also born in Pakistan.

    Kapil Dev took responsibility for the semi-final loss upon himself and never captained India again, although he continued to be India's first-choice pacer until he retired in 1994 as Test cricket's highest wicket-taker. After retirement, Kapil Dev became India's coach for a brief period.
    In the Test arena, he racked up 5,248 runs, while also taking 434 wickets, a former World Record. Born on January 6, 1959, Kapil Dev is by far the best fast-bowling all-rounder India has ever produced. Along with Imran Khan, Ian Botham and Richard Hadlee, Kapil Dev was considered the greatest all-rounder of his time.
    Kapil Dev received numerous accolades throughout his career. In 1994, he was honored with the Padma Bhushan, one of India's highest civilian awards, in recognition of his contributions to the game. In 2002, he was inducted into the International Cricket Council's Hall of Fame, cementing his status as one of the all-time cricketing greats.
