    Dilip Balwant Vengsarkar pronunciation ⓘ (born 6 April 1956) is a former Indian cricketer and a cricket administrator. He was known as one of the foremost exponents of the drive. Along with Sunil Gavaskar and Gundappa Viswanath, he was a key player in the Indian batting line up in the late 70s and early 80s.
    Vengsarkar is fondly called the ‘Lord of Lord’s’ because he is one of the few batsmen to have scored three consecutive hundreds at the ‘Mecca of cricket’ between 1979 and 1986 I was a raw, young fast bowler when Dilip Vengsarkar walked out to bat for Dadar Union in a local match at the Young Maharashtra ground, in Shivaji Park.
    He set up the DilipVengsarkar Cricket Academy at the OvalMaidan and at Mahul, Chembur where boys are given free cricket coaching round the year and it is one of the best centres in India. As many as seven current players from his Academy are representing Mumbai in the Ranji Trophy.
