Republic Day ParadeRepublic Day Parade is the annual event that marks the anniversary of the adoption of the Constitution of India on 26 January 1950. It is a grand display of the country's military and cultural diversity, showcasing the achievements, heritage and aspirations of the nation. The parade starts from the Rashtrapati Bhavan, the presidential palace, and passes through the Rajpath, a ceremonial boulevard, before ending at the Red Fort, a historic fortification. The parade features various regiments, bands, floats, tableaux, folk dances, school children, cultural troupes and dignitaries from across India and abroad. The highlight of the parade is the flypast by the Indian Air Force, followed by the release of tricolored balloons.
